New Jersey’s Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights (ABR) has placed important new responsibilities on educators responsible for preventing and responding to harassment, intimidation, and bullying (HIB) in our schools. This practical and interactive workshop will focus on statutory requirements and best practices for the ABS, ABC, and School Safety Team members, policy requirements, proper conduct of investigations, and the differences between interpersonal conflict and HIB. Participants will learn how to find resources for assessing and improving school climate as a prevention and intervention tool. Time will be available for sharing ideas, questions, challenges/successes encountered by ABS’s, ABC’s, and School Safety Team members in the implementation of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their HIB policies, procedures, forms, and resources to share with colleagues.
